Agenda Six: Ecologies of Architecture

Activity: Talk or presentationTalk or presentation at a workshop, seminar, course or other meeting

Description

During this day, the different research lines (established and new) of the Department’s Research Program will be critically assessed through a series of 10 discussions, in an attempt to clarify and sharpen the various positions within the program. By centralising the notion of the ‘agenda’, it is hoped that we will get engaged in formulating provocative statements, critical discussions and profound reflections with respect to contemporary architectural research in general, and the 10 research lines of architectural inquiry in the Department’s Program in particular.
The overall set-up of the day is that the agenda of each research line will be precisely outlined by the respective coordinators, after which a carefully chosen respondent will comment and critically reflect of this agenda. The agenda, in this respect, is intended to instigate a certain meticulosity in terms of position, methodologies, relevancy and/or senses of urgency of the research lines in relation to the current state of affairs contemporary architecture. We hope that the two (short) statements of each session will be further elaborated by initiating an overall discussion, with an active engagement of the staff of the Department (as much as possible).
