Communicating Emergency, Designing Hope

Activity: Talk or presentationTalk or presentation at a conference

Description

The lecture “Communicating Emergency, Designing Hope” traces, through a series of projects, my position as an architect, researcher, and academic. It presents a journey through a growing commitment not only to research and the communication of architectural knowledge, but also to its capacity to reach wider audiences beyond the strictly academic sphere. The talk reflects on how to engage different social actors in the making of the city—and the world—and how to narrow the gap between science and society at a time when many people feel powerless in the face of today’s major challenges. In a global context marked by polarization, the lecture explores forms of participation, communication, and design that can help reopen spaces for shared hope.
