From strugglers to superstars: assessing the roles of European regions and their cities in knowledge flows

    The analysis of H2020 partnerships across European regions is part of the study on interregional knowledge flows, one of the tasks included in the ESPON IRiE project on Interregional Relations in Europe. This presentation was delivered at the Global Conference on Economic Geography in Dublin in June 2022. Highlights include an explanation of the IRiE project, a summary of the key findings on knowledge flows, the construction of regional typologies based on flow characteristics and an exploration of outlier regions with unexpectedly high performance.
