Geo-anthropogenic Narratives: aesthetic encounters of Terras, Zöe, Bios, Geos and Anthropos along the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt

Activity: Talk or presentationTalk or presentation at a conference

Description

In this conference paper I address the notions of geopower from a point of view that allows the aesthetics of the Earth forces to express itself via volcanic activity. In this case I spoke of the articulation of painting and photography with the birth, development and extinction of Paricutín, the first volcano in recorded history to be monitored during its entire existence in the Mexican state of Michoacán. I use conceptual and theoretical frameworks that connect artistic, aesthetic and architectural expressions to geology and geomorphology.
