Description

We look into a case of a small urban community in the central Philippines. The community is exposed to a multitude of hazards, including typhoons, earthquakes and flooding. The urban environment is source of additional risks, as waste water of surrounding residential areas is directed through the community in open canals. Capturing the knowledge of the local community, translating it into data and complementing it with openly available development and humanitarian datasets, can inform disaster risk reduction planning and act as additional evidence in policy discussions.
