Description
The 6EC Coastal Systems course in the Civil Engineering MSc is supported by the Coastal Dynamics Open Textbook (CDot) published in 2021. Funded by the TU Delft Open Education Stimulation Fund 2022 and 2023 and CEG Education Innovation Projects 2024, we are currently expanding the Coastal Dynamics Open Education Resources with the Coastal Dynamics Open Codebook (CDoc) and the Coastal Dynamics Open Quizbook (CDoq).The CDoc is being developed as a publicly available Jupyter book that adds interactivity to challenging concepts from the textbook. In contrast to the more exploratory CDoc, CDoq will consist of interim assessments for each chapter of the textbook. In order to ensure high completion rates and deep-level learning, the CDoq will provide ample quality feedback and mimic the proof-of-concept of our current two-stage approach to interim assessment. Our current interim assessment relies on proprietary assessment software, which is inconsistent with our aims for Open Education.
