Activity: Talk or presentationTalk or presentation at a conference

Description

Post-war Modernism is characterized by different periods, architectural expressions and building and construction typologies. The lecture will give an overview of typical representative architectural formats from the 1950s to 1980s and evaluate and compare the characteristics and potentials with regard to public perception, conservation and rehabilitation. It will argue that negative perception and ‘continued underappreciation and threat’ are not evenly distributed and can be attributed to different reasons.
