The lecture will focus on Pompeii Palimsests and how past landscapes of catastrophes can be the drivers for rethinking the city and today's landscapes. Four themes will be presented: (1) The Vulcano and the city; (2) Changing landscapes; (3) The discovery of the past; (4) Today's threats and opportunities.
