Description
There is a rapidly growing academic and industrial interest in the theme of 'inter-household energy exchange'. This concept is often discussed and piloted under the guise of labels such as peer-to-peer energy, energy trading, energy sharing, and transactive energy. The understanding and implementation of this theme are predominantly limited to rational, impersonal, and market-centric perspectives. Such perspectives acutely lack the human, social, and cultural comprehension of such energy exchanges. This talk, drawing from multiple ethnographic field studies and design experiments in India and the Netherlands, presents and discusses possibilities of heterogeneous and plural visions of inter-household energy exchanges.Period | 17 Mar 2022 |
