Description
This 90-minute shared learning experience aims to collecvely explore how members of projects executed within the urban fabric can more systemacally approach their joint value creaon process to increase the sustainability, livability, and resilience of cies. The experience is designed around the use of a novel design method that is founded on a transdisciplinary understanding of value, exisng design for value methods, and an invesgaon of value creaon processes of 100 transdisciplinary creave consora that focus on societal missions in urban contexts across Europe. Parcipants will gather in three groups of muldisciplinary backgrounds. In these groups, parcipants will develop a strategy for a project scenario that will be provided, using physical tool materials. Each group will engage in a slightly different experience to work with for approximately 50 minutes. In this experience, parcipants will learn to 1) disnguish between different types, levels, and me horizons of value, 2) idenfy tensions between values from a comprehensive stakeholder perspecve, and 3) develop a value creaon strategy based on key values and key value tensions that play a role in their project. Aer the main acvity, the experiences and insights of the three groups will be exchanged in a moderated plenary session. This will provide parcipants with shared learning on how they can approach joint value creaon in their real-life projects, and different perspecves of how exisng as well as the proposed new design method can support them. Insights of the session will also be used to further develop the method and accompanying tool in close collaboraon with AMS, the Resilient Delta Iniave, and the Del Design for Values Instute. Parcipants in this session can include but are not limited to researchers, designers, engineers, developers, policymakers, government employees, entrepreneurs, acvists, students, and cizens. The experience is open to parcipants of any project that addresses a societal mission in an urban context and does not require any experience with or knowledge of design and joint value creaon.Period | 25 Apr 2024 |
