Description
I plan to explore ways of publishing my thesis “Architecture as Territory: Politico-Aesthetic Constructions and Representations of Space-Time” as a book and produce another chapter/paper (that is removed from the thesis during writing) to be sent to a (preferably AHCI) journal. The initial theme of the removed chapter was “territories of education,” focusing on the tools and concepts of architectural education, as well as the construction of architectural imagination and desire through disciplining individuals. Even though it is planned as a theoretical discussion rather than a case study, I also wish to attend some of the undergraduate design studios or introductory lectures as an observer to understand the studio conduct and outputs. Following some of the seminar courses in the department is also vital to understanding the division and structure of the department. The decision to remove this chapter from the thesis stemmed from an urge to make more first-person observations and not rely solely on existing literature.
The development of the book manuscript will be a simultaneous process that will be primarily discussed with Andrej Radman and the EoA group. Their insights will be valuable in refining and expanding my research outputs. I also plan to engage with other department members to gain their perspectives about my work through formal/informal talks, stimulating iterative
revisions and edits.
