    Description

In 2014 Delft University of Technology started an innovation programme for open and online education. The focus was to develop a new strategy, business model and support organisation for open and online education and execute this. The mission of the new organisation was to “Educate the World and improve the quality of education”. Three main objectives were defined: - Deliver High Quality Open & Online Education to the World - Improve Education - Grow Academic Output This programme is focused on the online learning experience of life long learners and the necessary changes this means for teaching and learning in a traditional brick-and-mortar research university. After three years the results are overwelming: a new organisation has been composed to support the academic staff in developing the courses. Together they created more than 60 MOOCs, 30 Professional Education courses, 25 Online Academic Courses and 15 blended projects. More important of the result is the impact the programme has had on the reputation of the university, international admission for campus education, the acceleration of change of campus education and the attention for education within a traditional research university.
