Presentation by Roberto Rocco.9 JAN 15:00 TU Delft Book presentations. “The Routledge Handbook on Informal Urbanisation”, by Roberto Rocco, discusses informal urbanisation in 25 cities around the world. “To Build a City in Africa: A History and a Manual”, by Rachel Keeton, discusses the phenomenon of new towns in Africa and its implications. These two diametrically opposite discussions on urbanisation are complementary and engender new questions for policy makers, civil society and businesses reflecting on urbanisation in the Global South.
10 JAN 15:00 TU Delft MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) RETHINK THE CITY. Presentation of this MOOC which has gathered more than 17.000 participants from all over the world. Rethink the City reflects on particular problems of urbanisation in Global South (Spatial Justice, Housing and Resilience) and aims to engage participants actively and promote dialogue amongst them, in active online forums and exercises. This MOOC opens up discussion on line education and engagement. Presentation by Luz Maria Vergara and Igor Pessoa.
