Press/Media: Public Engagement

Description

Millions of Americans lack access to affordable, healthy food. Food Oasis LA, an app created by people living in Los Angeles's food deserts, aims to tackle that issue with a click of a button.

Halina is a co-founder of Food Oasis Los Angeles (FOLA). A GIS-based platform to help users, volunteers and planners to fight food deserts, Food Oasis Los Angeles was born at a Hack for LA, part of Code for America, as a collaboration between volunteers from all walks of life. FOLA's mission was to build a unified hub for Angelenos to easily find healthy food.
