As a fashion and textile design engineer, IDE researcher Holly McQuillan wants to transform the fashion industry with her 'woven textile form' technique, a type of 3D weaving in which 3D shapes are made with weaving techniques. She wants to make the industry more sustainable with realistic tools. “Automated 3D weaving increases control and flexibility and can make production more cost-efficient.”
