Title De Bijloke Music Centre in Ghent, Belgium by DRDH Architects Degree of recognition International Media name/outlet The Architectural Review Media type Web Country/Territory United Kingdom Date 17/08/21 Description Daniel Rosbottom mentioned in the Architectural Review.
First mention: "Due to an enduring tradition of monastic hospitals where worship and healing were encompassed under one roof, the main hall has always boasted a structure that facilitated sound reverberation. However, over time the weight of the roof caused the external stone walls to push out, with the unfortunate effect of directing sound reflections over the heads of audiences. With the help of a team of acousticians from Arup, a series of surgical interventions were devised to improve reverberation, responding to the specificities of site condition. ‘We always seek to respond in a precise way to the situation as found’, explains Daniel Rosbottom of DRDH, ‘to make things with a sense of empathy for what is already there.’"Producer/Author Marwa El Mubark URL https://www.architectural-review.com/awards/new-into-old/de-bijloke-music-centre-in-ghent-belgium-by-drdh-architects Persons D.J.
