DescriptionDaniel Rosbottom mentioned in the Architectural Review.

First mention: "Due to an enduring tradition of monastic hospitals where worship and healing were encompassed under one roof, the main hall has always boasted a structure that facilitated sound reverberation. However, over time the weight of the roof caused the external stone walls to push out, with the unfortunate effect of directing sound reflections over the heads of audiences. With the help of a team of acousticians from Arup, a series of surgical interventions were devised to improve reverberation, responding to the specificities of site condition. ‘We always seek to respond in a precise way to the situation as found’, explains Daniel Rosbottom of DRDH, ‘to make things with a sense of empathy for what is already there.’"
