Description
A fiber-optic cable was woven through a PVC cage in order to apply Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) at a high resolution in three dimensions within a stratified water body. The DTS setup was employed in a laboratory water tank and two field campaigns in water bodies with varying temperature and salinity gradients. In order to measure with a high vertical resolution near the bottom, the horizontal cable nets were closely spaced in the lower part of the setup.
