Description
The goal of the measurements is to understand the noise sources on an electric aircraft as well as its combustion-engine counterpart. The data is used to validate a tonal propeller noise prediction model, as well as for assessment of annoyance of electric aviation.
The noise measurements were conducted with a phased microphone array consisting of 64 channels. The measurements were recorded with aircraft from E-flight Academy. The pilots were performing low-passes or a take-offs at Teuge International Airport, The Netherlands. During these measurements additional data from the cockpit on aircraft performance as well as from a GPS tracker has been saved.
The data set also includes microphone array measurements (112-mics) of engine runups at various positions around the propeller plane. A code is provided to read the time-pressure data and allocate the data to a microphone coordinate, such that acoustic imaging methods can be applied.
