Integrated Chat and Programming Logs from Data Science Tasks with an AI Tutor

This dataset contains anonymized interaction logs from a controlled empirical study investigating how novice programmers seek help using Generative AI (GenAI) and whether "process collapse" (metacognitive offloading) can be mitigated through adaptive scaffolding. The data captures fine-grained, real-time behavioral traces and conversations with a GenAI tutor from 40 participants as they completed Python programming and data analysis tasks in a Jupyter Notebook environment.
