Dr. Deepti Adlakha is Associate Professor of Urban Health in the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). A Fulbright alumna and interdisciplinary scholar, she holds academic degrees in architecture, urban design, and public health, and brings extensive research experience across international contexts.
Her research is driven by a commitment to reducing health inequities—particularly among vulnerable populations—by investigating how urban environments influence human health and well-being. Dr. Adlakha brings a broad portfolio of global experience, having lived and worked across India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.
Her work is internationally oriented and supported by competitive funding from leading research and development agencies. She leads interdisciplinary research in diverse low- and middle-income settings, working in close collaboration with community stakeholders and public health practitioners to inform policy, systems, and environmental change for healthier, more equitable cities.
Dr. Adlakha has published widely in academic journals and contributed to public discourse through platforms such as TEDx, BBC, The Conversation, and Scientific American.
