Elisabeth Tschavgova is a PhD candidate exploring systemic design practices to facilitate green transitions in commercial contexts at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. Key elements of her work include co-creating systemic design interventions, developing system maps, and designing for sustainable behavior change.
Elisabeth's research focuses on systemic design methodology within a business context, aiming to develop interventions for complex problems related to the climate crisis. She conducts action-research-based case studies to analyze various conceptual approaches to systemic design. As part of her PhD, she is also a design researcher at TULIPS, a European Horizon 2020 project (2022-2026), which aims to demonstrate lower polluting solutions for sustainable airports across Europe. Within this project Elisabeth co-designs systemic interventions aiming to facilitate a transition from linear to circular airports, focusing on waste management.
Elisabeth is a member of the Systemic Design Lab and the IDE Faculty PhD Council at TU Delft and is also a visiting researcher at AHO in Norway, where she is exploring Systems Oriented Design (SOD).
In addition to her academic work experiences, Elisabeth has worked in the design domain as a freelancer in Germany, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
