Guangxuan Wang obtained his PhD in Engineering Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. He previously worked as a teaching assistant at VUB and held R&D engineering roles in China focused on energy project development. He holds MSc degrees from LUT University (Finland) and Southeast University (China), with expertise in Computational fluid dynamics(CFD), GHG emissions control, and heat recovery. His research interests include multi-energy systems optimization, process simulation, and techno-economic analysis under uncertainty for energy transitions.
Since May 2025, he has been a postdoctoral researcher at TU Delft on the EPIC Africa project supervised by Dr. Edo Abraham and colleagues. His planned research will focus on energy and water system planning under uncertainty, with case studies in the Volta and Tana river basins. He will develop spatially and temporally explicit models to support resilient infrastructure investment and operational strategies at the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) nexus, contributing to policy-relevant insights for sustainable development in African regions.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
