Research profile

I have a passion for the Dutch coastal system and nature-based Hydraulic Engineering measures. My goal is to contribute to a resilient, robust and safe living environment in a changing climate. This ambition drives my current PhD research at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), which focuses on the scalability of tidal parks within the Rhine-Meuse delta. Tidal Parks aim to restore estuarine nature, while offering space for recreation to (re)connect humans and tides. Amongst other factors, this scalability is influenced by sediment dynamics, with potential multi-scale impacts on ecology, navigation, and flood risk. My approach combines various research techniques – such as field experiments and numerical modelling – and involves multidisciplinary collaboration within the NL2120 program.
