Lorenz’s work focuses on building reliable and secure socio-technical systems by applying perspectives and methods from Human Factors and Human-Computer Interaction. His PhD is about privacy and security of IoT devices and how user expectations, behavior, and device usage can affect system security.

Academic background
Lorenz holds a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Groningen and a M.Sc. in Human Factors from TU Berlin. Before joining TU Delft as a Ph.D. researcher, he worked as a consultant within the R&D domain on projects on safety engineering, ergonomics, and agile project management.
