Research profile
L.F. (Leslie) Mooyaart is a PhD candidate at Delft University since March 2021. Furthermore, he works part-time at Rijkswaterstaat (Road and hydraulic infrastructure department of Dutch Ministry). Previously, he has worked for ten years as a hydraulic engineer at Royal HaskoningDHV.
His PhD topic is about storm surge barriers. His research objective is to develop a methodology to improve the performance of these barriers to compensate for climate change effects, coastal development and subsidence, focusing on improving the closure reliability of storm surge barriers.
