Personal profile

Research profile

I work at the interface of environmental biotechnology and systems microbiology. The microbial network of nitrogen converting microorganisms is my primary focus. Waste and drinking water treatment plants are my model ecosystems of choice. By combining parallel bioreactors, genome-resolved metaproteomics, and mathematical modelling, I aim to advance our quantitative understanding of how complex microbial communities form and function.
