Research profile

Mackenzie Shaw received his Bachelor degree in Science (Advanced Honours) in 2020 and his Masters by Research in Physics in 2022, both from the University of Sydney. For his Honours and Masters theses he worked on the theory of quantum error correction (QEC) with the Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill code, investigating both their implementation in superconducting systems and the mathematical formalism used to describe these codes. He has just joined the Terhal group in 2022 to begin his PhD where he is looking forward to continuing work on QEC and the theory of superconducting devices.

In his spare time, Mackenzie enjoys singing and spending time outdoors. He is also likes watching sport, spending time with friends, and travelling to new places.
