Research profile

M. Kifayath Chowdhury is a PhD candidate in the Rivers and Ports Section of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences, TU Delft. His research focuses on improving the understanding and prediction of hydro-morphological responses of river systems to climate change, with a particular focus on river bifurcations. He employs numerical modelling and rigorous data analysis to investigate these complex interactions. With a foundation in Naval Architecture (BUET, Dhaka) and a Master's in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences from Louisiana State University, he brings a unique, multidisciplinary approach to his research. He aims to improve sustainable river management strategies by providing critical insights into climate-driven changes to rivers, ultimately contributing to the development of resilient and adaptive river systems.
