Mohammad is a PhD candidate in the Economics of Technology and Innovation section at Delft University of Technology. His research focuses on scaling up industrialization in the mineral value chain through frugal innovation, exploring how the interplay between minerals, technology, and innovation can drive sustainable development in Africa-Europe cooperation.
He holds a Bachelor and Master of Geo-Science from Minia University and Ain Shams University, respectively, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) in Financial Management. His academic pursuits align with his vision of promoting sustainable industrial practices and fostering economic growth in resource-rich emerging economies.
With over 14 years of experience spanning academia and the minerals industry, Mohammad has specialized in raw material evaluation, mineral economics, and industrial development. He has supervised national projects, contributed significantly to advancing industrial development in Egypt, and served as a consultant for industrial product certification in Saudi Arabia and business development studies in the United Arab Emirates. He has also participated in international collaborations and strategic initiatives aimed at sustainable resource management and industrialization.
Adopting a pragmatic and innovative approach, Mohammad integrates analytical, economic, and systemic perspectives to address complex challenges in mineral-based industries, emphasizing sustainability, efficiency, and innovation.
Mohammad’s research focuses on frugal innovation in mineral value chains, sustainable resource management, and industrial development in emerging economies. He is particularly interested in Africa-global cooperation, leveraging technology, innovation, and investment to align mineral-based industries with sustainable development goals, while enhancing transparency through technological applications
