Trayana Tankova has been an Assistant Professor in the Steel and Composite Structures section of the Department of Engineering Structures at Delft University of Technology since 2022. She was awarded a PhD in Steel and Composite Construction in June 2018 at the University of Coimbra with Distinction and Cum Laude. 

 

Her research interests cover various topics in steel structures, more specifically  the application of wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) in steel construction to improve material efficiency and to enhance structural performance, codification and analytical methods, fatigue of steel structures, reliability of design rules and their validation based on experimental tests, advanced numerical modelling in the context of member design and joint performance.
