Personal profile

Research profile

Dr Xiaolin He is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Transport and Planning at Delft University of Technology. His research lies at the intersection of human factors, human-computer interaction, and human-centred autonomy, with a focus on how people perceive risk, trust automation, and adapt their behaviour when interacting with intelligent systems in safety critical settings. His work combines behavioural experiments, multimodal psychophysiology, driving simulation, and computational modelling to better understand human state and behaviour in automated mobility.

Research interests

His current research interests include driver state modelling, perceived risk and trust in automated driving, and behaviour-aware traffic simulation. He is currently involved in the i4Driving and FOSIM OTS projects, where he works on modelling driver state and on integrating behaviourally grounded models into traffic simulation. Previously, he was part of the SHAPE IT programme, where he studied perceived risk and trust in automated driving through large-scale behavioural experiments, simulator studies, and computational modelling.

Academic background

Dr. Xiaolin received his PhD from Delft University of Technology as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher in the SHAPE IT programme. He was also a Visiting PhD Researcher at Technische Universität Dresden. Before joining TU Delft, he obtained his MSc in Automotive Engineering from Tongji University and his BSc in Automotive Engineering from Jilin University.

Profiel informatie (NL)

Academische achtergrond (NL)
