Research profile

Xiaoyu Wang is a PhD student at the Section of Hydraulic Structures and Flood Risk at TU Delft. He holds an MSc degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Tsinghua University and gained practical experience as a project engineer at CRTG Sweden.

His master's thesis focused on the statistical and hydrodynamic properties of floating foundations for floating bridges, employing both numerical and experimental methods. This work sparked his interest in floating structures, which he continues to explore in his PhD research on offshore breakwaters for floating cities, under the supervision of Dr. Bas Hofland. Specifically, he is working on Floating Eco-Reefs for Wave Attenuation as part of the Floating Future project.
