Abstract

This invention discloses a remote photoplethysmography measurement system where human skin color variations are analyzed for observing human vital signs by using a non-invasive remote sensor. The present invention further covers the areas of measuring the temporal changes in vital signs for monitoring and analyzing the physical and psychological state of the subject under observation. Moreover, a facial region of interest definition is disclosed with an Active Appearance Model (AAM) generation for tracking the changes on the face and facial expressions in a manner to stabilize the signal acquisition step and obtain a noise free skin color variation.
