Abstract

In this work, we investigate the feasibility of extracting velocity profile information with clamp-on transit-time ultrasonic flow meters. By using time delay inversion on multiple acoustic paths generated with clamp-on array transducers we extract the velocity profile inside the pipe. Monte-Carlo simulations with 1ns random jitter on the transit-times show good agreement with input velocity profiles. Measurements to test the algorithm on experimental data are ongoing.
