Abstract

User context characterizes the user's environment and situation. Knowledge of user context helps to improve how people communicate and enables new context-aware applications. This letter concerns inferring and predicting mobile users' context from time-stamped sequences of location identifiers. Results are validated using data from operational Global System for Mobile Communications* (GSM*) networks.
