New research simulation framework for flow modeling of complex physical system

Abstract

The new framework for General Purpose Research Simulator (GPRS) based on an Automatic Differentiation with Expression Templates Library (ADETL) library is presented. This framework is used for various research related to the simulation of a complex physical problems associated with modern Enhancement Oil Recovery (EOR) processes. The comparison of several widely used nonlinear formulations for isothermal compositional simulation is performed. The aim of this investigation was the nonlinear behavior associated with gas displacement processes in heterogenous reservoirs. Several results of flow in porous media simulation for EoS-based three-phase system are also reported.
