Optimised control and pipe burst detection by water demand forecasting; case studies in six locations in the Netherlands

Research output: Other contributionProfessional

Abstract

Water demand forecasting in addition to conventional control of water production and distribution results in a significant reduction of fluctuations in water production and distribution. A higher water quality and lower energy consumption are the main advantages. Pipe burst detection is made easier by comparing actual and forecasted water demand. The datasets contain measurements from six locations in the Netherlands. Documentation on the data can be found in the thesis `Optimised control and pipe burst detection by water demand forecasting¿.
