    Abstract

We determine the medium parameters of an object by utilizing the Pade Via Lanczos process. A single source generates electromagnetics waves which illuminate the object under investigation. The electric field strength is measured at different receiver locations and based ont his measured field we try to retrieve the medium parameters. In this paper we construct a Pade approximation of the scattered electric field strength for each source-receiver pair separately. We subsequently form a so-called reduced objective function using this approximation. The total objective function to be minimized is a linear combination of the reduced objective functions and minimization can be carried out by inspection. Numerical results illustrate the effectiveness of this approach and possible extensions of out method are discussed as well.
