Abstract

Sediment pick-up functions determine the sediment entrainment or deposition at the bed. Most of these functions are empirical and over-estimate entrainment at high values of the bed shear stress or at high values of the near bed sediment concentration. In the paper a number of entrainment function are compared with experiments using a 2DV flow solver.
