Regels voor het bouwen aan de campus: Masterplan Tilburg University van Bauhütte

De campus van Tilburg University zal in de komende jaren een ingrijpende ruimtelijke transformatie ondergaan. De universiteit is van plan enkele verouderde gebouwen te slopen en een drietal nieuwe te bouwen. De eerste stap is de bouw van een Onderwijs- en Zelfstudiecentrum (OZC) dat momenteel in uitvoering is. De ontwikkeling ervan startte eind 2014 met de aankondiging van een aanbesteding voor ontwerp, bouw en onderhoud, die gewonnen werd door een consortium van KAAN Architecten en bouw- en projectontwikkelaar VORM. In dezelfde tijd gaf de universiteit Bauhütte, de ontwerp-gestuurde onderzoeksgroep van de faculteit Bouwkunde van de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, de opdracht een masterplan op te stellen, dat ontwerprichtlijnen vastlegt voor toekomstige architectonische en landschappelijke interventies op de campus.

In the coming years the Tilburg University campus will undergo an extensive spatial transformation. The university plans to demolish some obsolete buildings and build three new ones. The first step is the construction of a Teaching and Self-Study Centre (OZC), which is currently in progress. Its development began in late 2014 with a call for design, building and maintenance tenders; the contract was awarded to a consortium consisting of KAAN Architecten and the building and property developer VORM. At the same time the university commissioned Bauhütte, the design-oriented research group at Eindhoven University of Technology’s faculty of architecture (an explanation of the name ‘Bauhütte’ is provided later in this article), to draw up a master plan with design guidelines for future architectural and landscape interventions on the campus.
