    Abstract

Using the impulse response method, the statistical modeling of wideband multi-input-multi-output (mimo) wireless channels is adressed. Rayleigh and Ricean distributions are used to model the mimo channel amplitude fading. Both poisson and modified poisson processes are employed to model the arrival of multipath components of mimo propagation channel. The temporal and spatial correlations at both transmit and receive sides are oncorporated in the model. Using the developed mimo channel model, the effect of fading distributions, power delay shape of mimo subchannel profiles as well as the temporal and spatial correlations on the capacity of mimo channel is investigated. Results can be used in the analysis, design and simulation of mimo systems.
