Abstract

The discloses electrical energy harvesting system includes at least one variable capacitor, preferably of electro-active polymer, two voltage sources, and a half-bridge network. The voltage sources are arranged in series with an interconnecting node (N1) between a first polarity terminal (T11) of the first voltage source (V1) and a second opposite polarity terminal (T22) of the second voltage source (V2). For each variable capacitor the half-bridge network includes a pair of diodes (D1, D2) in series with a common node (N2) therebetween, connected in parallel with the first voltage source (V1), an inductor (L) connected between the common node (N2) and a first terminal (TC1) of the variable capacitor (Cs), a first switch (S1) in parallel with the first diode (D1), and a second switch (S2) in parallel with the second diode (D2). The second terminal (TC2) of the variable capacitor is connected to the first polarity terminal (T21) of the second voltage source (V2).
