Abstract

The manufacture of high performance carbon fibre composite parts can be achieved with very short cycle times by utilising compression resin transfer moulding (CRTM). This work presents one dimensional numerical calculations of the flow front and preform behaviour as a function of applied pressure to the tool. The results show that accurate prediction of the flow front may be achieved, and that the evolution of viscosity due to cure may be recreated.
