    Abstract

The next step is to make the Library Learning Centre a vibrant part of the university campus. A university is by nature a learning and research centre. The university campus of the TU Delft is close to the city of Delft at one side, and Science Port Holland – Technopolis, at the other side. The campus wants to be attractive for its natural inhabitants, students, teachers and researchers and all other university staff. The university wants to reach out to society and carries out research to find solutions for society’s present and future demands and the physical spaces need to reflect this ambition. That means, in our road to 2020, that the traditional functionalities need to blend with living, playing, visiting and meeting spaces. A transformation process that still is in its initial phase. We would like to share our insights to exchange ideas and learn from our peers.
