Research profile

Max Salzberger is a member of the research staff at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, where he teaches digital planning and construction. He has specialised in digital production from early in his professional life, dating back to his apprenticeship as a woodworker.  Max also teaches digital manufacturing at the chamber of crafts in Cologne. He has put numerous projects into practice, from experimental structures to interiors and residential architecture. He is currently a PhD Student at the Department of Architectural Engineering and Technology at TU Delft. In his research, he investigates the transfer of craft-based techniques utilising the material properties of timber for the design, manufacturing and assembly of timber joints from hand- into information-tool-technology
