Naomi is a health economist with a background in medicine (Drs.), clinical epidemiology (MSc.), organizational anthropology (BSc.), and health economics (MSc., PhD.), including health technology assessment. She works as an assistant professor in sustainable health systems in the policy analysis section of the multi-actor systems department, faculty of technology, policy and management.

One of Naomi's current focus areas is the organization and financing of emergency care, and its impact on quality, cost-effectiveness, staff capacity, equity and environmental impact of the healthcare system.
