Fred Hobma's research focuses on the legal aspects and governance of the built environment and infrastructure.
He has written and lectured extensively on:
- Urban development law
- Partnership forms and partnership agreements
- Public private partnerships
- Property and land policy
- Transformation/re-use of vacant real estate
- Planning and permits
- International comparison of planning law and cases
His latest book (2016) is Planning and Development Law in the Netherlands (co-author).
He is and has been engaged in research and advice for governments, advisory bodies, businesses and parliament.
