Research profile

Konstantinos Glynis is a PhD student in the Urban Water Infrastructure group in the Department of Water Management. He is a Civil Engineer specializing in hydraulic engineering and water management. He has worked in different projects in the water/environmental sector ranging from stochastic investigation of environmental indices to AI-based burst detection in water distribution systems. As part of his PhD he is working at KWR within the Smart Water Futures project, an ERC Synergy Grant funded project in designing the next generation of intelligent urban drinking water systems. His current research activities focus on measuring and modelling water quality in drinking water distribution systems. In particular, he focuses on increasing the understanding of biofilm dynamics, by developing new measurement techniques and control mechanisms that will facilitate better decision making.
