Sylvia Pont is professor of Perceptual Intelligence and head of the Perceptual Intelligence lab (π-lab) and section, working on perception and design of multisensory experiences and products, services, and systems, and unique for its cross-disciplinary approach to real-world perception problems. She developed novel methods for the science and application of light(ing), including perception-based lighting design and ecological optics of light and its interactions with materials, shapes and spaces. She coordinates a Master’s elective course Lighting Design and teaches in several other courses in human centered design, human factors, and multisensory design. She is associate editor for the Journal of Vision.
