Abstract
The journal article is written within the realm of the ‘Right to the City’ by Henri Lefebvre. It consists of three components, i.e. the right to the oeuvre, to appropriation, and to participation. The latter is critical regarding decoding rigid power structures within cities. These notions were described by Michel Foucault and Bent Flyvbjerg. The article reflects how these key aspects regarding just public participation processes, which have been postulated decades ago, manifest in today’s day and age. More specifically, questions surrounding just public participation processes within a highly digitised society are explored by showcasing two nextPlace Lab research projects. These projects both contribute towards the aforementioned just participation processes.
